Synopsis of resource:

The GLM CPR is a collaborative network involving a group of organisations and individuals with no documented obligations. Our purpose is to collect and share information, resources, tools, and lessons and enhance communication and support.

We are connected through shared interest and maintain collaboration in a non-hierarchical manner. Our network of registers collects and harmonises information about individuals with Cerebral Palsy in LMICs with a common goal and provides a platform for researchers to conduct studies for a global understanding of Cerebral Palsy in the majority world population.
We collect data on a range of factors, including socio-demographic characteristics, birth details, clinical characteristics, severity of Cerebral Palsy, early detection, intervention, integration, and care. The information is collected through a standardised protocol, which ensures that data is comparable across different countries and regions.

Currently 42+ organizations from 14+ LMICs are connected through the GLM CPR network, collaborating to enhance global knowledge and understanding of cerebral palsy in these low- resource settings.

Key learning outcomes

The GLM CPR website provides information about:

  • Data and research on cerebral palsy in LMICs affiliated with the network.
  • Training and capacity development activities for professionals, individuals with cerebral palsy and their caregivers/ family members in LMICs.
  • Service and scope for translation of research in low-resource settings.
